The park that is very soon to be "the park that we used to live next to", Nabeshima koen is so beautiful. Quaint and peaceful, simply a gorgeous little lake surrounded by sakura trees.

Hanami at Yoyogo Park 2008
Parklife on a Saturday
Once again our walk to Yoyogi park took us through the assortment of entertainers that line the walking street that leads through NHK park every weekend. I hereby dub these two pics "Boy band taken from behind" and "Bubblehead"!

Rikko Kasso: Tokyo Undresssed
I have been a fan of Rikki Kasso's Tokyo Undressed photo blog for some time now. He is a Tokyo based photographer/artist/film maker that lives in Shibuya and takes pictures of (amongst other things) gorgeous japanese models in various states of undress. He somehow manages to capture a certain kind of sexual energy that emanates from Shibuya in a way that I really admire, and for that reason I recently ordered (and just received) his book "Tokyo Undressed". Check out his blog..

人身事故: Train Suicide
Danny Choo experienced the aftermath of a train suicide the other day from right up close, and posted this haunting video of the cleanup. This happens reasonably often here in T-town, and probably stops the Yamanote line (the line that circles around Tokyo) about as much as anything else. As Danny says:
"99% of these cases are of people jumping in the tracks and most of the jumping happens before or after work - it was about 5 in the evening."
Here's the video:

Daisuke Naito
Daisuke Naito was recently successful in defending his WBC Flyweight title against Thai fighter Pongsaklek Wonjongkam. It was the fourth time they had met in the ring, the first time Pongsaklek KHTFO in the first round! This match was a draw, enabling Naito to retain his title. Andy McGovern was there and caught these great pics!
Naito was the fighter that Kameda Daiki "picked up" during the infamous bout that saw Kameda banned from professional boxing for one year.

Umbrella Man!
Looking for an apartment in Tokyo - Final!
Finally found it, the perfect one..
I had no idea that it would be such a mission to find an apartment that I liked, within my budget, and that would accept foreigners. In the end we were knocked back on three applications because of where we were born, it sucked to say the least. Months of searching webpages, corresponding with agents, and going out to view apartments on freezing cold nights after work does not make for a fun winter, but we were finally successful. Turns out that the landlord of this apartment actually PREFERS foreigners to japanese nationals, go figure.. In any case, we got a great place with tons of space and an OVEN, a rarity here in good old T-town..

Broken Social Scene: Live at Quattro 3.7.08
My favorite band in the WORLD: Broken Social Scene played live at Quattro, Friday night, awesome!!!! Ridiculously dumb pic I know but my phone was grabbed after this and it was all I could do to... When I left I was soaking wet and minus one BSS t-shirt. My highlight was screaming "Frightening Lives" at Kevin Drew and having him repeat it back at me! Lowlight was maybe... Nope, no lowlights!!
