Come to my Party @ Koenji Liner

Sad to have to say that this may have been the last CTMP show, a least in this formation anyways. So anyways I shot these guys and also added a couple of Shyojo Skip, and the after party. Another fun night in a darkened basement full of noisy rock people..

The Shirts @ VRP6: Revolutionary

Valentine Records Presents vol. 6 rocked as hard as ever. Some awesome solo stuff from Dan, swirly electro-pop beats from Come to my Party, and The Shirts alter ego "Kokkryng" also put in a fine, albeit alcohol fuelled performance. Please enjoy the epic rock that is Revolutionary..

Kokkryng's highly anticipated debut album cover design by Scott Shirt.

ABCD @ VRP 5

ABCD totally rocked the house at VRP 5 last week. A clever blend of jarring chords and punchy beats, both polished and rock at the same time, brought everyone together for a great final act. Reminiscent of a garage Sonic Youth, these guys are definitely a band to behold as they prepare for world domination..

Monitor @ VRP 5

Shambolic.. That was probably the most honest reaction I heard after the Monitor set last week. It's not unusual for things to go wrong during a show, and there are a myriad of possibilities: leads losing contact, strings breaking, dodgy mixes with no-one looking out, unpaid stage dancers having cat fights.. This time lots of things went west, but luckily none of them dampened spirits or took away from the energy as the band ripped through their up-tempo set of electro-pop loveliness..

Come to my Party @ VRP 5

Valentine Records presents vol. 5 was a rockin little shindig to say the least. Lots of people drunk, dancing, picking up, putting down, and the lines of acceptable behavior being blurred a little around the edges, or recreated if you must as all the bands rocked another great Ruby show! Come to my Party opened up the evening with their sweet bass driven electro-pop swirliness.

The Black Shakes @ VRP 4

At the start of this song Justin was showing me that he had just broken the headstock on his guitar, I was trying to focus in on it as they blasted into the song. The Black Shakes once again rocked the hell outta VRP..

Come to my Party @ VRP 4

It's rad that we get to play with these guys so often these days. They opened up Valentine Records Presents vol.4 with their dance rock beats and post-Supercar cool..

Monitor live @ VRP 4: NY Bitch

For me, the best songs are about real experiences that people have, that are then translated into music and lyrics, which in turn become a kind of vehicle for others to relate to. Unfortunately it's often the bad stuff that happens that inspires great songs.

Ladies and gentlemen, NY Bitch...

Monitor @ VRP 4

Valentine Records Presents vol. 4 last night was awesome. We managed to stream the show live for the first time and were really happy to see some friends and family from far off places tuning in for the event. There's lots of pics and video of all of the bands to come, but for the moment, here's some Monitor for ya...
