Looking for an apartment in Tokyo - Final!

Finally found it, the perfect one..

I had no idea that it would be such a mission to find an apartment that I liked, within my budget, and that would accept foreigners. In the end we were knocked back on three applications because of where we were born, it sucked to say the least. Months of searching webpages, corresponding with agents, and going out to view apartments on freezing cold nights after work does not make for a fun winter, but we were finally successful. Turns out that the landlord of this apartment actually PREFERS foreigners to japanese nationals, go figure.. In any case, we got a great place with tons of space and an OVEN, a rarity here in good old T-town..

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #8..

Shinsen Kouwa Palace: 2LDK, 155,000 per month

Deep breath, this could be the one.....

*edit: knocked back again, even after having been told "foreigners okay" for 3 weeks! This isn't fun at all..

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #7..

Shoto Residence: 3DK, 180,000 per month

Applied for this one a couple of times before being "beaten" to the punch (at the 25th hour) by a Japanese applicant. The third knockback because we are not Japanese..

This one had an awesome balcony:

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #6..

Shoto, 2LDK: 190,000 per month

Unusual to find something on the ground floor, this one was filthy but the landlord was gonna totally refurbish it before the new tenants moved in. Interesting little layout, even had a little yard. Too expensive though..

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #5..

Maruyamacho, 1LDK: 159,500 per month

Thought we were getting somewhere here, big enough and nicely renovated, almost perfect location and not too expensive but whats that? Oh, bathroom in the kitchen.. >_<

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #4..

Shinsen, Touwa-corp. building: 149,000 per month

Find one you like>view twice>apply>get rejected because you are a foreigner.. >_< This was the first time in a long while I felt "excluded" because of race. Nothing you can do about it here though..

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #3..

Shinsen, 1LDK: 160,000 per month

Feels like the story of Goldielocks and the three bears after a while, as this one was nice but just not quite in the right place..

Looking for an apartment in Tokyo #2..

Shinsen (Touwa-corp. building) 1LDK: 149,000 per month

This one was better budget-wise, and was in a great location but was just that little bit too run down..

It's just not an easy thing to do.

Udagawacho 2K: 172,000 per month

This one looked great, perfect location, brand new, but it turned out to be tiny (33 square metres).
