Anatomy of an attempted nampa..

Step 1: Identify possible target

Step 2: Make wobbly-type footstep-based movements towards said target

Step 3: Attempt to engage said target in "witty banter"

Step 4: Establish "Yay or Nay" status

Step 5: Retreat to sheltered area for reflection and possible reorganization of strategy

Boys and their bikes.. 03

This awesome machine was spotted which taking cover from the rain in an alleyway of Koen Dori on Sunday evening. Seems Dude-san had the same idea as us (getting out of the rain), and was kind enough to let me shoot him while waiting for the storm to abate..

Slippery when wet..

There's a reason why you don't see many people wade into the mini-lake in the centre of Yoyogi park, actually there are probably a few of them, but the slime that covers the concrete that serves as the lake floor most certainly must be up towards the top of the list.

Needless to say, this young lady found out the hard way..

Super Yosakoi Festival

Yes.. more festival pics, but hey, Summer aint done yet! The Super Yosakoi Festival was held a couple of weeks ago at Yoyogi. An amazingly vibrant and energetic festival that was originally started in Kochi Prefecture after the war as an attempt to revitalize the region’s economy. It seemed to comprise of local area clans and families, both young and old, coming together to revel in the culmination of what must have been months of dedication and preparation. The Daikon group were particularly compelling as their often over the top energy levels saw daikon flying through the air, only to be picked up by the the radish patrol bringing up the rear..
